Pop-Up Art Shoppe

Monday, November 25, 2013

I would like to cordially invite you to the first King City Art Pop Up Shoppe.  It is being held from November 28th - December 20th.  The Shop is located within the King Township Museum (2920 King Road, just East of Highway #400).  There are only 10 artists that will be exhibiting at the Shop.  Each artist is of a different medium, which helps on selecting unique pieces.  There will be all different price ranges; which will be great for Holiday Gifts.

The museum will be open Tuesday - Saturday; 10:00am - 4:00pm.

I will be exhibiting some great Holiday Cards, a few framed pieces and many different sizes of pictures in matts.  If you see something you like at the Shop, but would like it customized to fit what you are looking for, please let me know.  I am able to work with you on anything specific you might be looking for.

If you have any further questions regarding the month long Pop-Up Shoppe, please let me know.  You can contact me directly at erinlinc80@gmail.com or via phone 416-886-3540.

T is for Thornton

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

I was so happy to be given the opportunity to be chosen as the photographer for this family.  They had not had family pictures taken in 'forever,' which is what I was told.  I was honoured!  They told me to do whatever I wanted and I thought that was awesome!  They live on a dead end road surrounded by a farm, so you know me, let's go for a hike!  The pictures that I was able to capture in the field were amazing; perfect fall colours.  The rain even held off and for a brief moment out on that field, the sun came out!  It was meant to be:)  Even their dog Sophie was having a ball out in the field of tall grass.

The Thornton's consist of two kids and a young adult.  The three of them were amazing at how fast they were able to shine through the camera lense.  At first you could tell they really weren't sure about me, but I think I turned them over to my 'photographers' side by the end of the two hours.  Devin, is the young adult in the family, whom might I add, should be a freakin model.  She's gorgeous.  I was so happy when they suggested to take a few head shots of her.  See for yourself!  Don't worry boys, she's already spoken for.

Thank you again Thorntons.  You made my job well worth it!

The Potts Family Fall Session

Monday, October 28, 2013

This past month I got to meet a wonderful family. We all hit it off, right from the beginning! I felt like I had known them for a long time! The Mom & Dad (Linda & Mike) and their two boys; whom might I add are awesome preteens boys and very well-mannered! The girls are going to love them when they get older; definitely will be heart breakers, in fact I am sure the phones have already started to go off with text messages (back in my day it was pagers, lol).

They were all great to work with. I got there early in the morning, what seemed like the crack of dawn for some (sorry Mike; he had a wonderful poker game the night before;) but they were all ready to go and truly up for anything. I had fun finding out that they 'might' have a beaver in their back woods and that they just love their little white ball of fluff (the dog). We did laugh a lot; and I am sure Mike did not think that was going to happen at 8am, but he threw a couple of laughs out too.

I enjoyed incorporating a ladder that Linda has had in her family since forever and found out that the green patio chairs in the backyard might have been there for a little longer then what they had thought;)

All in all, the rain held off and we had a ball! Thank you so much to the Potts Family. I really enjoyed getting to know each one of you.

Here are some pictures that I thought should be posted, since the family was beyond adorable and full of entertainment. I just love all the black and whites of the family and how they turned out.

Thanks Potts Family, for choosing Corcoran Phototgraphy.

Fall Is In The Air

Monday, September 30, 2013

It's that time of year, when the leaves on the trees start to change and it feels like magic outside when you photograph things.  This past weekend I was able to venture out to do just that!  I got in my car and just drove.  Maybe I did get lost one or two times and maybe I did have to open up my GPS app on my phone to help me, but that's what made it so enjoyable.  I had no time that I had to be home, I had no stops that had to be made, it was just me, my camera and the open road.  I came across some amazing scenery, in places that I had never been to before, right in our own backyard of Ontario.  I had a lot of fun!  There was a shot with a red door that I can't wait to edit and show everyone.  I feel like this door has been photographed a lot!  But it's tucked away on a lonely road, which made it that much more fun shooting it.

Over the past few weeks, I was in the Schomberg Art Street Festival.  This was my first year at this show and I hope that it won't be my last!  It is a juried art show that happens on the main street in Schomberg, Ontario.  It was a lot of fun.  Yes it was cold and yes it did rain but surprisingly that did not get me down!  That made it that much more fun to meet each individual that came into my booth.  I met some lovely people throughout the entire weekend.  It was a great success and I would like to that everyone that came out to support Corcoran Photography and my work that I was selling.

Just an update about what I will be doing over the next few weeks.  I have many family fall photo sessions and head shot sessions booked.  I am very excited for all of it:)  I have recently come into a few extraordinary props for the family sessions and I am really looking forward to seeing the clients faces when I pull them out of the truck:)

I will post a few sneak peaks shortly:):)

Upcoming Show

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

As most of my friends and family know, I am in another upcoming Juried Art Event.  I have attached the website below, for more information.

http://artssocietyking.ca/

or you can go to the website directly for the street festival at:
http://www.schombergstreetgallery.ca/

Click on the list of the artists---there is a write up about myself, which I also include with every sold piece.

It is happening September 21 - 22nd, 2013 in Schomberg, Ontario.

I will be showing many new pieces and lots of framed items, just in time for the gifts to be purchased for the Holidays.  I will also be offering a special treat or reward if you will to the first 30 purchases.

Please remember that I also do custom orders.  If you see something you like, I am able to work with you on what size or style you would like it printed or framed.

I am also showing a few different pieces that no one has ever seen yet.  Come by my booth and check out all the new pieces.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Until then, take care.

Name in Lights

Thursday, August 01, 2013

I think it is still surreal that people think my photography is unique and different.  I try to think out of the box and capture what everyone wants to capture but can't.  I enjoy taking pictures all the time!  In fact my boyfriends Father calls me 'Scoop.'  I think the nickname is very fitting for me.  I never leave home without my camera and if I do thank goodness for my camera on my phone.  It's those moments all the time that I enjoy shooting.

This past weekend I was an exhibitor at my first Art Show.  The Rails End Gallery Festival in Haliburton, Ontario.  What an experience.  I loved it all, from the stories I heard from the customers, to the holding of the tent so it doesn't fly away with the wind.  Every part of it was an amazing experience and I would not change it one bit!  It's so much fun to me!

I have been editing pictures this week from the show and making a small video.  My next post will definitely include those items.  If you did not make it out to the show you missed a wide variety of exhibitors - - hope to see you out next year at it.

I have applied to one more show this year.  It was also an Art Show, in which you had to be accepted by the jury.  It is closer to the end of the summer/beginning of fall.

Until the next post, keep supporting all your local artists.  It's the little things that make them all happy they are doing it for a living.

So Long, Farewell Grade 8.......

Thursday, July 11, 2013

I was given the opportunity to photograph a Grade 8 Graduation dance, hosted by the I Love Me Club, on June 27, 2013 in Barrie, Ontario.  I ran a mock photo booth session, and as you will be able to tell from below, I think it went well!

If you were a part of the event or attended the event and I was given the opportunity to take your photo, you can view them all below.  The pictures are included with my watermark, for Copyright protection.  If you are interested in receiving any of the pictures below, please contact me directly with the photo number and to arrange payment for them.

Thank you to Mackenzie from the I Love Me Club, for approaching me to be a part of the fun and best of luck in India.
